Trustee Position Open For Loma Prieta School Board

Applications are due by 4 p.m. Dec. 13 to fill vacancy on five-member board governing Loma Prieta Elementary School and C.T. English Middle School in the Los Gatos mountains.

The Loma Prieta Joint Union School District, 23800 Summit Rd., has announced an open position on its Board of Trustees created by the resignation Mario Montana due to expanding work commitments.

The new position is an 11-month appointment through November 2014, the district said in an announcement posted on its website.

Candidates must be residents of the Loma Prieta Joint Union School District, be  registered voters, be 18 years of age or older, and be California residents.

Interested persons are encouraged to obtain a candidate’s information packet and application by calling the district office at 408-353-1101, or emailing Eileen Bevans-Franks at e.bevans@loma.k12.ca.us. 

Applications must be received by district office staff by 4 p.m. Dec. 13.

Board members will review applications and meet to interview qualified candidates.

The Los Gatos Mountain district operates Loma Prieta Elementary School and C.T. English Middle School.

The district's enrollment is about 360 kindergarten through eighth grade students.

The district distinguishes itself for having high academic achievement and low-class sizes.
