Los Gatos' SchoolMessenger Receives Excellence Award

Tech & Learning Magazine gives local education technology company its 2013 Award of Excellence for best upgraded product.

Los Gatos-based SchoolMessenger, 718 University Ave., the leading provider of communication solutions for education, announced Wednesday that its notification service received the 2013 Awards of Excellence Best Upgraded Product award from Tech & Learning magazine.

This is the third consecutive year that SchoolMessenger has received the honor.

A panel of more than 30 educators, who tested more than 160 entries, chose this year's winners.

"The opportunities for using technology in the classroom have never been better, but making purchasing decisions has never been more difficult," said Kevin Hogan, editorial director for NewBay Media's Tech & Learning Group. "We hope that the hard work our judges have performed this year adds insight to our readers' search for the best solutions."

Celebrating its 31st year, Awards of Excellence are presented annually to recognize innovative applications for the K12 education market that break new ground and those that added significant enhancements to proven education tools, the company said in a news release.

"SchoolMessenger is honored to receive such a prestigious award for three consecutive years from a leading resource in the K12 education community," said Nate Brogan, vice president of marketing for SchoolMessenger.

The local company was among 72 education technology products named by Tech & Learning as winners in its 31-year-old recognition program.
