Patch Watch: Graffiti on Vasona Dam Cleaned Up

Do you have any blight or problem spots to report to Los Gatos Patch? If so, please send your Patch Watch suggestion to Sheila.Sanchez@patch.com. Thank you!

Santa Clara County Parks and Santa Clara Valley Water District volunteer Dave Lane had good news to report to Los Gatos Patch on Friday Aug. 2.

He sent us an email to let us know that the large graffiti tags that had been spray painted on the back of the Vasona Dam wall on the University Avenue side in Los Gatos, near the Creekside Sports Complex had been painted over by the SCVWD.

Graffiti tags had also been left on the dam's spillway side along Garden Hill Drive, the wall facing the spillway, the outflow pipe and on the dam gate. Lane had spotted them July 18, reporting them to the SCVWD and Los Gatos Patch on July 19.

Lane also found several graffiti spray paint cans at the location of the graffiti and turned them over to the Los Gatos Police Operations Building on July 25. He filed a formal police report about the act of vandalism with the help of Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police officer Todd Fleming.

Los Gatos Patch contributor Gary Hinze also noticed the graffiti removal from this area on Aug. 2 and sent us the photos accompanying this post of a peace sign that was painted over as part of the cleanup. Hinze reported the agency also removed weeds.
