Los Gatos' Ali Fox Collects 1,500 Pounds of Candy For Troops

Nonprofit Operation: Care and Comfort will ship sweets to the troops overseas.

Los Gatos High School sophomore Ali Fox has collected 1,500 pounds of candy during the Operation: Care and Comfort Halloween sweet drive.

Ali placed candy collection boxes at the Los Gatos Library, Van Meter Elementary, Daves Avenue Elementary, and Lexington Elementary schools during the first part of November.

She thanked Daves Avenue Principal Kit Bragg, R.J. Fisher Middle School Principal Lisa Fraser, Lexington Principal Karen Tamsen, Van Meter Principal Vivian Martin and Los Gatos Librarian Henry Bankhead for allowing her to place her collection bins at their sites.

Last year, Olivia and Lu Ann Flechsig helped Ali collect nearly three tons of candy from all over the country.
