2013 'Gift of Reading' Book Drive Under Way

Nonprofit education organization encourages donation of books at designated area drop-off locations for needy children.

  • Menlo Park: Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real
  • Milpitas: Milpitas Library, 160 No. Main St.
  • Mountain View: Books, Inc., 301 Castro St.
  • Morgan Hill: BookSmart, 80 East 2nd St.
  • Morgan Hill: Morgan Hill Library, 660 West Main Ave.
  • Newark: BookSmart, 1083 Newpark Mall
  • Palo Alto: Books, Inc. 855 El Camino Real

The donated books will go to under-served children and to help teachers build classroom libraries for them increasing their chances at long-term academic success.

The books may be the only holiday gift a child will receive, according to organizers.

Cash donations are also being accepted. The funds go directly to the purchase and distribution of additional books.
