Diana Pleasant has been selected as grand marshal for the 55th annual Los Gatos Children's Christmas and Holidays Parade which will take place Dec. 3.
Pleasant was music director at Los Gatos High School for 29 years. Her work was instrumental in the Los Gatos Theater Improvement project, the Los Gatos Lions Club said in a small post on Facebook this afternoon.
Pleasant also directed the choir and the Jazz Purr group.
"Diana is totally overwhelmed and speechless with the honor," said Los Gatos Lions Club spokeswoman Carol Musser.
, which co-sponsors the event with the Los Gatos Lions Club, was inviting the public to nominate someone from the community for the honor. The deadline to submit nominations was Nov. 1.
