The Giants Win the World Series!

By a score of 4-3, San Francisco beats Detroit during Game 4 in Detroit.

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series Sunday evening sweeping the Detroit Tigers by a 4-3 score.

During a four-hour game that went into extra innings, the Giants captured the Major League Baseball championship, two years after beating the Texas Rangers in Game 5 by a score of 3-1.

The team now comes home for major celebrations in the South Bay, Peninsula and City of San Francisco.

Patch Editor and die-hard Giants fan Jacob Bourne is reporting that the Giants parade is Wednesday, Halloween Day, at 11 a.m. starting on Market Street and ending at City Hall in San Francisco with a ceremony.

"Should be lots of great photos to be taken, and it's a good chance to ask readers if they're going," he posted on Facebook.

Give the Giants a shout-out here in the comments.

The Bay Ares is blessed once again with another championship team. I think what I like best about Bay Area teams winning, is the way Bay Area fans celebrate – safe and sane. Congratulations to all!

Even though I was reading at a poetry event this afternoon at Barnes & Noble with Erica Goss, Nils Peterson, Dave Denny, Sally Ashton, and Connie Post, I'm still happy that the Giants did it again! Who says poetry and sports don't go together!

Never been and probably will be a Giants fan, but congrats to the team for a great showing. I'm especially happy for former A's Barry Zito and Marco Scutaro.

Such a great series to watch. It was great to see all the players who had their struggles during the season come through with exceptional performance. This is Bay area joy.

So exciting to celebrate this amazing team with good friends once again at the Garret. We think it's our lucky hangout for watching the Giants...hey, 2 World Series wins proves this superstition has merit!

For the second time in three years the Giants are World Series Champions ! This team showed so much passion and drive throughout the regular season to the postseason with their backs up against the wall vs The Reds in the NLDS, then the Cardinals in the NLCS, even through all of that the experts still picked the Giants as the Underdogs, Tonight we showed the world just how good we really are ! Congrats SF Giants ! You all deserve to be the World Champs ! WEAR THE TITLE BELT PROUD ! Already planning on the parade for Wednesday !

Baseball is such a fantastic analogy for life in general. All those years with Barry Bonds, arguably one of the best offensive players ever in MLB, yet both Giants WS Championships were won by unsung TEAMS working real hard together with no real standout hero, overcoming mountains of adversity to stand at the top in the end. Love the story in today's age when it seems nearly every US hero (or potential hero) is mired in a cheating scandal of some sort; doping, affair, voter fraud, etc.. I just hope Panda is clean. Congratulations GIANTS!
