Seattle Seahawks Ticket Site Bans California Purchases

If 49ers fans want to buy tickets to Sunday's NFC Championship game in Seattle, they'll have to do it through a secondary market.

Are you poised at your computer hoping to hit "PURCHASE NOW" and get your tickets for Sunday's 49ers-Seahawks NFC Championship game?

Not so fast 49er fans. Seems that the mean old Seahawks have tweaked their official website to disallow purchases from anyone with a California address

According to a report on sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com, California residents can still purchase tickets through the secondary ticket market like NFL Ticket Exchange, Stub Hub and others, or through someone they know up in the hinterland of the Pacific Northwest.

A check of the the Seahawks ticket page indeed confirms this attempt at keeping the 49er faithful away: “Tickets will be available to fans with a billing address in WA, OR, MT, ID, AK, HI and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

“I’m sure they’re not concerned about the appearance, but it still looks kind of weak,” writes NinersNation.com.

Are you planning to attend Sunday's game in Seattle? How did you get your tickets? Tell us in the comment section below.

That is so wrong! Can they really so that? Doesn't seem right. Next season we'll just ban Seahawks fans with a Seattle address from buying tickets, lol. 2 can play that game. Actually this whole rival thing has gone too far, adults acting like 2 year olds. Such things (and refs bad calls, NFL fining players for stupid reason, etc) is ruining football.

The Seahawks and their fans have shown their lack of class and professionalism all season. I was appalled at their childish behavior - from the blocking of ticket sales all the way to Sherman's outburst at the end of the game. What a bunch of jerks!
