Fun in the Sun Car Show

The second Fun in the Sun Car Show is set for July 17 outside Aldo's Ristorante in Vasona Station at 14109 Winchester Blvd. The entire parking lot of the shopping center will be filled with more than 140 cars for guests to check out between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The car show is themed "European style meets American classic" because it includes such a broad range of participants.

"A lot of shows are just one type, but we've got people from everywhere bringing muscle cars, European specialty cars, sports cars, classic cars and purpose-built race cars," he said. "It's got a very family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere and we encourage the public to come look at cars you don't see very often."

The event also includes music, a silent auction, raffle and delicious food. And for a snack that stays true to the car show experience, why not try an Italian classic made in an old fire truck?

"We'll be serving freshly made, wood-fired pizzas made by Aldo from his pizza truck," Scalmanini said. "It's really great. He purchased a 1949 fire truck and converted it to a wood-burning pizza oven truck."

The event is free to attend, and any money guests spend will support a good cause. Net proceeds from the show go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event in Campbell.
