More To Love In Los Gatos! New Yogurt Shop Coming Soon To E. Main Street

Just in time for the peak summer months, frozen yogurt lovers will soon be able to enjoy their favorite cold treats at Yogurt in Love, a hip new frozen yogurt store near Los Gatos High School. 

The store, located at the site formerly occupied by a Fromage and Specialties meat and cheese store, is on East Main Street and is nestled between Billy’s Chowder House and the newly opened Spinello’s Italian East Coast Eatery. 

The store is also on the same block as popular dining location Southern Kitchen and is across the street from Purple Onion Café. 

According to its Facebook page, the store is planning to open in the next two weeks.

Yogurt in Love will feature a self-serve-style selection process, allowing customers to create their own combinations -- with five yogurt machines and 15 flavors. Above the yogurt machines will be a chalkboard detailing new or upcoming flavors. 

If desired, customers will be able to use waffle cone bowls as the base for their yogurt. 

Additionally, the store will offer an impressive range of 20 toppings including everything from candy to sprinkles. Customers will also be able to choose between five syrups and various fresh fruits from a bar. Finally, the store will offer fresh baked cookies kept in a warmer as a topping.

In order to stay consistent with its name, the store will be themed in a love-based color swatch, which decorates the store in everything from the red, pink, and white tiles used in the sale counter and fruit bar to its pink overhead air ducts. Modern, custom-designed chandeliers and large windows work in harmony to produce a bright and cheery atmosphere. 

The store has also decided to retain the original brick walls and wooden floor, which will be restored. Despite its name, the store will also appeal towards kids, family and singles using arrangeable seating configurations.

Due to Los Gatos City Ordinance 2021, the initial proposal for the Yogurt in Love store was rejected by the Town Council in February, according to the shop management and the city's web site. This ordinance prevents retail locations from being restructured into restaurants. 

The ordinance was designed to preserve local business and retail spaces in downtown Los Gatos, say city officials. However, a rigorous campaign led to the town overturning the ordinance, the Yogurt in Love Facebook page posted, which allowed owners to proceed with renovations.

The store is now undergoing its final construction, adding last-minute touches, and was to undergo initial city health inspections last week.
