What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

Contracts will be awarded for classroom modernization at Fisher Middle School, buildings A and C.

The Los Gatos Union School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. onTuesday at district headquarters, Thomas P. O'Donnell District Office, 17010 Roberts Rd.

Here are the items on the agenda:

  • Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. regarding the negotiated agreement with the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association and the Unrepresented Certificated Employees.
  • Ratification of the negotiated agreement between the Los Gatos Union School District and the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association and between the Los Gatos Unified School District and the Unrepresented Certificated Employees.  Some changes involve contract-language changes, some of which limit cash in lieu of benefits, and increases in district-paid contributions for medical benefits.
  • Contracts will be awarded for classroom-modernization construction at Fisher Middle School, buildings A and C. The district held bid openings on June 2nd regarding the modernization construction, with the Board recommending a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive bids.
  • The board will discuss approving additional work to the Lexington School Water Facilities after PG&E required a change in its electrical design,  subsequently causing the San Jose Water Company to increase installation fees of the pump station by $2,900. The board recommends approving the additional fees to the water company.
  • Leslie Paulides, assistant superintendent of business services, will facilitate a discussion on the 2011-12 Budget.
