Fisher Middle School Presents ‘Phantom Tollbooth’

Beloved children's book musical begins March 8.

Two casts comprising 70 young performers have been busy rehearsing at to present next Thursday, March 8 their spring musical Phantom Tollbooth.

The musical is based on the beloved children's book by Norton Juster and Sheldon Harnick, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Last year, the middle school presented Mirror Image for its spring program.

The cast is led by director Mandy Khosnevisan. The musical is the modern tale of a bored boy named Milo who must save the princesses Rhyme and Reason and reunite the brother Kings who rule over the cities of Dictionopolis and Digitopolis.

Aided by a trusty time-keeping dog, Tock, Milo successfully brings harmony to the Land of Wisdom during his adventure and learns many things about words and numbers. When he returns home, Milo realizes there is never a reason to be bored in a world filled with wondrous discoveries.

Performances are scheduled at Fisher Middle School, 19195 Fisher Ave., at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 8-10; 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10; and 1 p.m. Sunday, March 11.
