Major Earthquake Drill Set for Thursday

Students in schools across Santa Clara County are ready to drop, cover and hold as they prepare for the annual “ShakeOut” earthquake drill on Oct.17 at 10:17 a.m. 

The local kids will join the much of the rest of California in participating in the Great California ShakeOut. 

All participants will stop what they are doing and react as if an earthquake has occurred: drop to the ground, take cover under something sturdy and hold on.

Anyone visiting government buildings during the drill will be directed to take the same action. The drill will last approximately two minutes and customer service to the public will be disrupted for a short amount of time.
