Wildcats to Face Homestead Mustangs

Team enjoyed big emotional win last week over rival Saratoga by a score of 41-7; starts big push toward CCS playoffs.

The Cats will travel to Homestead's field for the final regular scheduled game of the season tonight, since Friday is a school holiday.

Homestead has one of the best running games in the league, so expect to see a contest of two teams that have a very similar approach to the game. Call it "grind it out tough football."

This contest is also significant in that it will have a big effect on both the league and playoff pictures.

Los Gatos currently stands one-half game behind Palo Alto and one-half game ahead of Homestead in league standings.

The Los Gatos team has a lot to play for. A win Thursday, coupled with either a loss or tie by Palo Alto would give the Cats the league title.

The Mustangs could also get a share of the title if they won, and Palo Alto lost.

To add to the mix, it could also mean a number 1 seed in the playoffs, or even a trip to the open division if the Cats win.

Coming off a big emotional win last week over rival Saratoga by a score of 41-7, the team is ready to start a big push toward the CCS playoffs.

Our boys would like that push to be ignited by a big win over a very good Homestead football team.
