Small Section of Los Gatos Creek Trail Still Flooded

After storm that soaked town the week of March 21, small section still under water.

After the heavy rains that soaked the town the week of March 21-25, a small section of the , at the intersection of Willow Hill Court and Charter Oaks Drive, is still flooded.

But the inconvenience of having to go around the inundated area, which is closed off with signs and a metal gate, doesn't seem to bother regular trail users who said they don't mind climbing up to a parking lot just above to get back on dry land.

"It's not a problem," said trail user and Los Gatos resident Eric Witt, while on the path for his daily walk. "It's easy to get around."

Witt, who uses the trail "a couple of times a week," said he's been climbing to the parking lot ever since the storms flooded the area.

The nearby looked full to the rim on Friday, and water was still spilling over to the flooded section.

Other trail users have made a makeshift mini-trail up the small hill that separates the path from the parking lot on higher ground.
