Sgt. Michael D'Antonio has been selected to attend the National Law Enforcement First-Line Supervisor Training Institute on Violence Against Women, local police officials announced this week on the town's website.

Sponsored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the institute is federally funded, the announcement said.

The initiative, created in partnership with the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, is designed to be highly interactive and will focus maximizing supervisory efforts by illustrating the realities of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking, enhancing problem solving skills, and identifying best practices.
