Los Gatos Girl Scouts to Clean Vasona

Group to participate Saturday in National Public Lands Day, largest volunteer effort in the country.

Los Gatos Girls Scout Troop 60337 will be among more than 180,000 volunteers expected to clean 2,000 sites across the country Saturday, Sept. 24, as part of National Public Lands Day.

The event is considered the largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the United States, according to Amber Taylor, a spokeswoman for the cleanup.

Volunteers in every state will visit their favorite parks, beaches, wildlife preserves or forests and chip in to help improve public places of recreation.
