Sheriff's Arrests: Felon With Firearm, Child Abuse, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse

Vehicle Theft

  • Daniel Vargas, 19, of Morgan Hill, Aug. 27, 2:45 a.m., at San Martin and Llagas in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, felony conspiracy and theft or unauthorized use of vehicle.
  • Moises Vargas, 24, of San Jose, Aug. 28, 2:45 a.m., at San Martin and Llagas in Morgan Hill, for failure to notify DMV of change in address, windshield violation, driving when privilege is suspended or revoked, felony conspiracy to commit crime and theft or unauthorized use of vehicle.
  • Patrick Shipley, 29, of San Jose, Aug. 28, 10 p.m., at 10101 No. Wolfe Rd. in Cupertino, for felony theft or unauthorized use of vehicle, probation violation re-arrest, misdemeanor false name to peace officer and possession of marijuana in vehicle.

Child Abuse

  • Cody McGhee, 23, of Boulder Creek, Aug. 28, 9 a.m., at Morrell and Summit roads in Los Gatos, for felony driving in willful disregard of safety, possession of controlled substance and wilfully causing/permitting child to suffer and misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked and possession of controlled substance.

  • Christopher Nichols, 33, of Santa Cruz, Aug. 28, 10 a.m., at the San Jose Hall of Justice, 190 W. Hedding St., for felony possession of controlled substance, possession of ammunition by felon and felon in possession of firearm. Bail set at $50,000.

Vehicle Code Violations

  • Samantha Haynes, 26, of Gilroy, Aug. 28, 11:35 a.m., at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 W. Younger Ave., for misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked and infractions for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle and not having child seat restraint permitted for transportation and exceeding 65 mph.
  • Isela Rojas, 29, of Mountain View, Aug. 28, 3:36 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 W. Younger Ave., for misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  • Jose Rios Uriostegui, 40, of Bay Point, Aug. 28, 10:15 a.m., at the Santa Clara County Courthouse in Palo Alto, 270 Grant Ave., for misdemeanor suspended license.
  • Jason Rice, 26, of San Jose, Aug. 28, 11:25 a.m., at 301 Diane Ave. and Butterfield in Morgan Hill, for driving when privilege is suspended or revoked. Bail set at $5,000.

  • Abel Castro, 52, of San Jose, July 8, 4:40 p.m., at Condit Road at Diana Avenue in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor under the influence of alcohol/drugs/controlled substance.

Annoying, Molesting a Child

  • Benjamin Nunez, 27, of Milpitas, Aug. 28, 4:21 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 W. Younger Ave., for misdemeanor annoying or molesting a child.

DUI

  • Stephani Guzman, 21, of Mountain View, Aug. 28, 3:20 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Courthouse in Palo Alto, 270 Grant Ave., for misdemeanor hit-and-run and DUI.
  • Jaime Molinar, 35, of Riverside, Aug. 29, 12:58 a.m., at E. Dunne Avenue and Condit Road in Morgan Hill, for DUI and driving under the influence. Bail set at $10,000.
  • Alexander Goenne, 24, of Sunnyvale, Aug. 29, 2:02 a.m., at Homestead and De Anza in Cupertino, for DUI. Bail set at $5,000.

Fighting in Public

  • Patricia Avalos, 28, of Hollister, Aug. 28, 3:36 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Courthouse in Palo Alto, 270 Grant Ave., for misdemeanor fighting/challenging to fight in public place.

Unlawful Sexual Intercourse

  • James Dumas, 21, of San Joes, Aug. 28, 4 p.m., at 1196 Great Mall Drive in Milpitas, for felony unlawful sexual intercourse. Bail set at $10,000.

Obstruction of Justice

  • Derek Wolkow, 45, of Cupertino, Aug. 28, 12:50 p.m., at 21490 McClellan in Cupertino, for misdemeanor possession of controlled substance, using/being under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting, delaying, obstructing a peace officer, giving false ID to peace officer and petty theft of personal property. Bail set at $8,500.

Burglary

  • James Sakuragi, 44, of Campbell, Aug. 28, 5:15 p.m., at 10150 No. Wolfe Rd. in Cupertino, for misdemeanor petty theft and first-degree burglary. Bail set at $11,000.

Assault With Deadly Weapon

  • Adell Bowie, 64, of Gilroy, Aug. 28, 10:10 a.m., at Monterey and Tully roads, for misdemeanor being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and felony assault with a deadly weapon.
