Campbell police are seeking information from witnesses who may have seen two armed men rob a bank Wednesday, drive away in a pickup truck and flee in separate cars less than two blocks away.

Police responded to a report at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday of an armed robbery of the US Bank at 1998 Bascom Ave. at East Campbell Avenue near the Pruneyard Shopping Center, police Sgt. Gary Berg said.

Two suspects, wearing hooded sweatshirts, entered the bank with their faces covered, pointed handguns at bank employees and demanded money, Berg said.

After receiving cash, the pair fled the bank and entered a red GMC Sierra pickup truck, which police later learned had been stolen out of Watsonville.

The suspects drove less than two blocks away onto Midway Street at Campbell Avenue and entered separate getaway cars, one a blue or green sport utility vehicle and the other what appeared to be a silver Honda, Berg said.

Officers found the stolen pickup parked on Midway, Berg said.

Police have reviewed a surveillance recording of the robbery, but it is nearly impossible to identify the suspects because their faces are covered, Berg said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Berg at the Campbell Police Department at (408) 866-2101.
