Pleasanton Police to Release Sketch of Slain Woman

Authorities are having trouble identifying a woman found dead in a Pleasanton trash can last week and plan to issue a sketch.

Police are having difficulty identifying a left on Dublin Canyon Road last Thursday morning, a lieutenant said.

The lieutenant said police hope to create a sketch of the woman in the next few days to distribute to the public to help identify the woman.

The body was discovered around 11:30 a.m. in the 11000 block of Dublin Canyon Road. The Alameda County coroner's bureau is still working to identify her, Lt. Jeff Bretzing said.

There is no information on ethnicity, age, or cause of death, though police are treating it as a homicide. Fingerprints have not revealed anything, Bretzing said.

They are also saying the victim is likely not a child, curbing speculation that she could be the 15-year-old teen from Morgan Hill, Sierra LaMar.

Santa Clara County Sheriff Sgt. Jose Cardoza said Wednesday that detectives have not heard from the Pleasanton police regarding the discovered body. Cardoza said detectives would have been contacted by Pleasanton authorities if there was a remote possibility that the body is the missing teen.

The woman did have some distinct features, according to Bretzing, including dark hair and blue polish on her fingernails. She was wearing pajama bottoms and an Old Navy brand shirt, Bretzing said.

Anyone with information about the case should call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.
