Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into Tree Near Saratoga Ave.

A motorcyclist was killed in Saratoga late Wednesday when he collided with a tree while driving on a road about two blocks west of Saratoga Avenue, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office reported.

The male victim was riding his motorcycle at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday heading west on Cox Avenue at Saratoga Creek Drive when he approached a slight bend in the road, sheriff's Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup said.

He failed to maneuver through the curve and crashed into a tree, Stenderup said.

Sheriff's deputies who arrived at the accident scene performed CPR on the victim.

Emergency medical personnel who arrived afterwards pronounced him dead at the scene.

The sheriff's Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team took over the case and the cause of the accident is still under investigation, Stenderup said.

It is not known if drugs or alcohol were factors on the crash, he said. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call the sheriff's office Traffic Investigator Deputy Torres at (408) 868-6600.
