Los Gatos Woman Clobbers Man While Driving on Highway 17

Incident is reported to police Monday afternoon and woman is arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

A Los Gatos couple with a history of domestic violence is back in the local crime blotter after another assault between them was reported to police the afternoon of Monday, May 20.

According to Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada, the 36-year-old woman struck the man while driving southbound on Highway 17 in Los Gatos at 2:38 p.m.

The woman, who's not being named since domestic violence/assault charges against her have been dismissed in the past, was taken into custody at the Los Gatos Police Operations Building, 15900 Los Gatos Blvd., Sgt. Tada said.

The man, who was involved in an assault incident with the woman earlier this year that allegedly involved a knife attack, sustained minor injuries consistent with small lacerations, scratches and swelling to face, arms and back areas, Sgt. Tada added.

The male victim was driving when the woman struck him. The woman was later contacted at her residence and was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of assault/domestic violence, Sgt. Tada said.

An emergency protective order was issued at the request of the male victim and authorized by an on-call Santa Clara County Superior Court judge based on the circumstances of the incident, prior history and likelihood of recurrences, Sgt. Tada added.
