Los Gatos Sex Offender Arrested

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody for failing to register under California Penal Code and California Megan's Law requirements.

A Los Gatos sex offender was arrested by Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies for two felony crimes at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Oakmore and Old Santa Cruz Highway in Los Gatos.

According to a sheriff's arrest report, Jonathan Geiger, 22, was taken into custody for felony failing to register as a sex offender after being convicted of the crime or juvenile adjudication of the offense.


He was also arrested for felony probation violation.

According to the law, a convicted sexual offender who fails to register can face imprisonment for 16 months, or two or three years in jail.

In Los Gatos, the Megan's Law website shows a total of 25 sex offenders, nine in the 95030 zip code, seven in the 95032 zip code and nine in the 95033 zip code. None are shown in Monte Sereno.

The offenders in the 95033 zip code live in unincorporated Santa Clara County, or unincorporated Santa Cruz County, with a Los Gatos mailing address, so not within Town of Los Gatos boundaries.

The sheriff's report has Geiger's address as 25111 Soquel San Jose Road in the Los Gatos Mountains, with a zip code of 95033.

His occupation is listed as customer service.

Santa Clara County sheriff's Sgt. spokesman Kurtis Stenderup said Geiger is no longer in custody.
