Los Gatos Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

A 52-year-old Los Gatos man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he struck an SUV pulled over in a rural area of Santa Clara County south of Los Gatos, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 5:20 p.m. a man riding a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north at about 35 mph on Soda Springs Road near Loma Almaden
Road near the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve.

A 72-year-old Los Gatos man in a 2004 Buick SUV was traveling south on Soda Springs Road and had slowed down and stopped on the right side of the road, according to the CHP.

The motorcyclist hit the front of the Buick and was pinned between the two vehicles.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office his identity has not yet been confirmed.

The Buick driver was not injured in the accident and was able to drive away from the scene, according to the CHP.
