Drunken Men Assault Officer, Destroy Plants, Flee From Police in Los Gatos

Three public intoxication arrests keep local cops busy last weekend.

Three drunken men were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail last weekend for various offenses, the most egregious being an assault on a Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police officer.

Greg Stokes, 49, was taken into custody after assaulting the local cop at 10:41 p.m. Saturday April 13 on No. Santa Cruz and Nicholson avenues.

According to the California penal code, the crime, which is a felony, is punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,000, or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one year, or by both the fine and imprisonment.

The following day, on Sunday, April 14, officers arrested two men within a three-hour period for trying to escape after being detained and public intoxication, vandalism and being in possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Micahel Mahoney, 18, was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail at 12:43 a.m. on Royce Street after fleeing from police as they were trying to arrest him for public intoxication.

Kevin Daniel Fuentes, 25, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. at No. Santa Cruz and Nicholson avenues, on suspicion of being drunk in public, vandalism by removing shrubbery from town planter boxes and being in possession of Xanax and Klonopin without a prescription.
