Obituary: William 'Bill' James Norman IV

Longtime Los Gatos resident remembered for his ownership of Cornucopia Fruit Stand on Capri Drive.

William (Bill) James Norman IV, 66, was born in San Francisco and was a longtime resident of Los Gatos. Bill passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 1. 

Bill and his lovely wife, Connie Norman, own and operate Cornucopia Fruit Stand. For more than 35 years, Bill enjoyed serving his long-term customers and meeting new people who instantly became friends. 

His easy going way and his constant smile meant that first-time customers became customers for life.

A visit to Cornucopia for a Halloween pumpkin or a Christmas tree became a family tradition for his customers, their children and grandchildren. 

Bill was dedicated to keeping alive the rich agricultural history of the valley honoring a kinder, gentler time when you could expect the best from a shop owner dedicated to providing wonderful products and a genuine heartfelt experience.

Bill’s greatest pleasures were spending time with family and friends, playing golf and his Island time.

In addition to his adoring wife of 35 years, Connie, Bill is survived by his loving children and treasured grandchildren: son William (Bill) Norman V and his wife DeAnna, their children Billy and Mateo Norman. Bill’s daughter, Heather Norman Pastorini and her husband Todd, their children Hayden and Shelby Pastorini. 

He is also survived by his two sisters and four brothers and their spouses, Tina and Ken Rulo, Mike and Marisin Norman, Paul and Anna Norman, Larry Norman, Tony and Anita Norman and Gina Hughes. Bill was also loved and is remembered by his many nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at St. Lucy Catholic Church in Campbell.
