William (Bill) James Norman IV, 66, was born in San Francisco and was a longtime resident of Los Gatos. Bill passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 1.

Bill and his lovely wife, Connie Norman, own and operate Cornucopia Fruit Stand. For more than 35 years, Bill enjoyed serving his long-term customers and meeting new people who instantly became friends.

His easy going way and his constant smile meant that first-time customers became customers for life.

Bill was one of the good guys of Silicon Valley. He was a business man with a strong sense of doing right by his customers and he was a steward of local agriculture. He helped folks when they were down and lived his life by a farm community philosophy of taking care of one another. The Cornucopia fruit stand he and Connie operate is a treasure of Silicon Valley. He will be sorely missed here in Campbell and Los Gatos but the fruit in heaven just got a whole lot better.

My sympathy to Connie and her family. Since my son was a small child (he is now in college) we would stop by to pick our Chirstmas tree. Bill would laugh as my young son would run through the forrest. He was so welcoming to all customers with his generosity and service. Please note that he made a difference in our family traditions
