Who's Got Spirit?

Spirit Week at Los Gatos High School!

Every year students wait to see what the themes for spirit week will be.

This year, as it approached, leadership students collaborated to come up with the best ideas that would please the majority of the population.

Our spirit days this year were: LG Pride day, where everyone wears the school colors of orange and black. Tacky day, Pajama day, Olympics day, and Class Color day were the others. Although I heard many mixed reactions about the days, in general, many people were dressed up and representing their school!

Throughout the week, the leadership class put together lunchtime games, which put grade levels against each other in silly games to win points. As always, on Friday students were to wear their class color: freshman-green, sophomore-blue, junior-orange, and seniors-black! If anybody had stepped one foot onto our campus they would see fields of color. I've got to say, the amount of spirit our high school has never ceases to amaze me.

As per tradition, after second period a spirit rally was held in the high school's big gym. Here our extremely talented drum line, cheer team, dance team, and choir all performed amazingly. Games were also held such as tug-of-war, musical chairs, and balloon stomp.

Though all the classes were extremely spirited, none of them could compete against the class of 2012! For four years my class has been waiting for the honor to wear black, and we sure didn't let anyone down. Every single person in the 12th grade came to school decked out in black, ready to give everything they had at the rally. You could feel the pride as seniors cheered louder than any other class. Of course, in the end, seniors were first, and juniors, sophomores and freshmen followed.

But the day wasn't over yet. At 7 p.m. that day was our Homecoming football game! Although it only goes to show how strong of a football team we have, some wished the game could have been a little more intense for our homecoming.

What was spectacular to see, though, was the amount of support we have for our football team. So many students and parents were at the game that there was absolutely no seating left over. All teammates were extremely respectful and courteous to the other team.

Makes me proud to be a wildcat! If you missed this football game, you will definitely want to catch

Also, congratulations to all the seniors who played their senior games this past weekend! We have some extremely talented sports teams here in LG.
