Blog: Los Gatos High School's 'Noises Off' is a Hit!
Los Gatos High School puts on a fall production of "Noises Off." Come and see the funniest production in the history of high school plays.
We have some out-of-this-world actors at . The fall play this year has rolled around, and there are not enough good adjectives in the dictionary to describe it.
Opening night for "Noises Off," was Wednesday, but the performance runs through today, Saturday, Nov. 19 at the school's theater. Directed by drama and English teacher Anne Burke Martyn, a 1987 Los Gatos High graduate, the play has everybody laughing their faces off.

The setting takes place in Des Moines, IA, where a theatrical group is preparing to perform the Broadway-bound play. Among the cast members are fading star Dotty Otley, scatter-brained actor Garry Lejuene, insecure matinee heartthrob Frederick Dallas, leading lady Brooke Ashton, second female lead Belinda Blair, and alcoholic Selsdon Mawbray. Frantically working behind the scenes are Tim Allgood and Poppy Taylor
The play opens with the final dress rehearsal before opening night, with the cast still forgetting lines, missing cues, and mishandling props. While this is funny, the even funnier part is when we are showed what is happening behind scenes at the opening night of the play.

And finally, the audience is shown the front view of the opening night, with all the chaos going on behind and on stage. I won’t say anymore to secure interest, however, I strongly suggest visiting the school's play page so you can buy a ticket. There are two performances today at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. This is one play you do not want to miss.
"The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is festival of delirium."—The New York Times
The auditorium fills up fast, so buy your tickets as soon as possible and make sure to arrive early, get a front row seat, and prepare yourself for the funniest show you've ever seen.
