Fear is discouragement of one’s soul. It is what holds a man back from escaping his own monotony.
He fears the life of unknown. He fears chance. He fears possibility. He fears himself.
The shadows of doubt run alongside a man, making him take notice, smiling at him with a grin of deceit as he trembles and cowers to its whim.
One’s fear is the only obstacle there truly is. What he would perceive fear to be is up to the man.
Man’s fear is that of his own making.
Fear is the immovable object and the unstoppable force. It is the wall that one cannot climb. It is the sickness in one’s stomach that occurs in times of decision that would change the life of this holder of fear.
Fear manipulates thought and creates a steady stream of acid corroding the potential one holds. It pulls on one’s insides, trying to tear them out along with the courage that intends to combat it.
It is a battle ensuing within, courage being the David, as Goliath stands tall, shadowing over his lesser foe. Sadly this tale does not end with the overcoming of a giant, but kneeling before him in defeat, awaiting the beheading, for when one gives into fear he has given his life.
One who lives through the eyes of fear is blinded to life itself. Fear surrounds those afraid of night with darkness, tormenting them as they try to escape their fears through the secondary world within one's mind.
The fearful rise the next morning, happy to survived the darkness, only to feel the angst deep inside them grow minute after minute, knowing the darkness will come again.
Fear is innocence. Fear is the child who knows not of what to expect when stepping into an ocean, or when losing his mother from sight and feels the world crash down upon him. Eyes of strangers piercing him as tears stream down his face filled with fear.
It is what once was a survival tool, fearing that of possible predators, but now the only predator is ourselves. Stalking on the weak. Prowling for the limping emotions that cannot outrun fear. We pounce on the opportunity to split the baby calf from the rest of the heard, sticking our destructive claws into the flesh of the emotion and begin to tear into it and break it down, until fear finally stands over what once was a thriving life with blood dripping down its fangs.
It will not get its fill until it feasts upon each opportunity and each thought in one's mind. It continues to hunt each and every day, in both the conscious and subconscious mind.
Life is plagued with fear and it is the “no” that’s uttered without thought. Fear all lies within death; human survival is what it once was, but now fear of death is no longer to survive, but the fear of not living when given the chance.
Fear is what rips one down from the heavens and shackles him to a life of sadness, forcing him to hide in darkness where his potential cannot find him.
