On The Porch of Joaquin Miller's Cabin

The 'Poet of the Sierras' recited a poem at the dedication of the now-gone Los Gatos' Bunker Hill Park in 1897.

Joaquin Miller recited a poem at the dedication of Bunker Hill Park in Los Gatos in 1897. The recreational land is now Highway 17.

Here he is on the porch of his cabin in Oakland.

His real name was Cincinnatus Heine Miller. He was born Sept. 8, 1837 and died February 17, 1913. His nickname was the "Poet of the Sierras."
