Los Gatos Creek Trail Closed For Brush Removal

Citations will be issued to residents who don't stay away, according to signs.

Yikes ... if you use the Los Gatos Creek Trail for walking, jogging, cycling or simply to recreate, you better stay away today Tuesday and tomorrow Wednesday, Oct. 2-3.

Signs posted Monday in some sections of the Los Gatos portion of the popular path alerted the public that it will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for brush removal.

"Strictly enforced. Citations will be issued. Follow detour signs," read a sign at the entrance of the trail right before the Roberts Road Bridge underpass on Monday. The sign had the number for the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department, 408-399-5770.

On the Los Gatos Patch Facebook page, reader Lisa Ann Strand said she had seen the signs, too, on Monday, while riding her bicycle on the trail, but couldn't find any evidence online, she said. Neither could we.

Strand said the sign was also posted on the trail entrance behind Old Town Center.
