5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 15

Get a little exercise and help a great cause by signing up for the 5K NF Walk sponsored by the Children's Tumor Foundation June 25.

1. Toddler Storytime is for children ages 2-3 years old at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday at the Los Gatos Public Library, 110 E. Main St.  Activities include story-reading, music, and fingerplays. Although the Children's Librarian leads, you can interact with your child as well. This is a free program and is a great place to meet other parents. The library asks that you keep large items in your car, including strollers. Details: 408-354-6893.

2.  Don't miss the "In the Abstract" exhibit noon-4 p.m., Wednesdays-Sundays, at the, 4 Tait Ave. The exhibit features works by abstract artists Ewa Gavriellov (prints), Paula Schales (sculpture) and Neal Boor (paintings). Exhibit runs through July 21. A reception with the artists takes place 2-4 p.m., June 12. Details: 408-354-2646 or www.museumsoflosgatos.org.

3. Sign up today for foursomes to play in the 14th annual Los Gatos Lions Club annual benefit golf tournament, Monday, June 27, 2011, at La Rinconada Country Club. Enjoy a round of golf on this special course followed by an eventful post tournament buffet, awards, raffle and auction at the Los Gatos Lodge. Save the date for a good time with your friends and at the same time you will be making a difference by helping the Lions special causes. Details: 408-354-7896.

4. Want a little extra exercise and interested in helping a good cause? Sign up for the upcoming 5K NF Walk sponsored by the Children's Tumor Foundation at 9:30 a.m. at Vasona Lake County Park, Saturday, June 25. NF stands for neurofibromatosis, a condition that encompasses a set of distinct genetic disorders that cause tumors to grow along various types of nerves. Details: Kelly Mills at kmills@ctf.org, or 310-216-9570, or 917-863-9015.  

5. Share your thoughts about public spaces and architectural styles for the future development of the . Complete an online survey letting town planners know what your preferences are for the land bounded by Los Gatos Boulevard to the east, Highway 85 to the north, Lark Avenue to the south and Highway 17 to the west.
