Los Gatos Artist Middlebrook Leaving for the World’s Top Art Venues

We are very proud and happy to let folks know that sculptor David Middlebrook will be leaving town this week to display his work at the Venice Biennale in Italy.  The Venice Beinnale is considered the largest and most prestigious art show on the planet and David, a long time Los Gatos resident has the great honor to garner an invitation  (click here to view a previous LGAB post regarding Middlebrook and the Beinnale).  Los Gatans should be very proud to have one of our neighbors so highly regarded in the world of art.  However, on this trip, in addition to the Biennale, David has been invited to display his work at the Scope Basel International Art Fair in Switzerland.  Through his association with the McLoughlin Gallery in San Francisco his work will be on display at this famous and prestigious art fair.  McLoughlin Gallery’s invitation to the Swiss venue tells this of the show:
.
“With over 60 art shows spanning more than a decade, SCOPE has solidified its position as the premier showcase for international emerging contemporary art and multidisciplinary creative programming. SCOPE’s extensive reach enables an unrivaled opportunity for networking with art patrons, creative professionals and a culturally relevant public audience.”
.
As so many of my artist friends like to tell me, instead of talking about the art or the artist, let the art speak for itself.  As a writer, my art is all about words and stories, as a sculptor, David Middlebrook’s art is all about visual perceptions.  While pictures are not sculptures, at least they can give you an hint about the art.  Here are few pics of David’s work (not necessarily going with David on this upcoming European trip):
