How does this happen, Silent? The Patch is now on auto-pilot, grateful for content, even self promoting content by a convicted criminal. I'm sure her victims are thrilled with the publicity....

without a real local editor, it appears patch is looking to regional editors to approve content for publication...my guess is that this is sponsored content from this "houzz" site, which is certainly filled with astroturfers from the construction community get used to either filtering out this stuff, or just stop using patch. patch is basically a failure as a business, a lot more sponsored and non-vetted content will appear here...
