Los Gatos Cinema Gutted

Interior of theater is gone and construction continues at 41 No. Santa Cruz Ave. in downtown to build a larger and more modern cinema.

A backhoe, a forklift and two construction workers are seen in this photo taken Friday, March 29 of the interior of the Los Gatos Theater location, whose landmark sign has been removed and its interior has been gutted to build a new cinema at 41 No. Santa Cruz Ave.

The new movie house will become a larger theater with tiered seating and state-of-the-art equipment on the main floor and a smaller screening room on the upper floor.

Special events will also be allowed on the mezzanine level. The business is owned by Three Sisters, LLC. and closed in September of 2012 and could reopen this June.
