Last Chance: Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, Coastal Cleanup Day

You loved it in the spring, and now it’s time to sip and shop once again at the Los Gatos Fall Wine Walk: Downtown and Old Town coming up 1:30-5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29. See a list of participating wineries, shops and food donors here. Tickets are $40 per person in advance and $50 at the door (if still available). Childhood Cancer Awareness Day is at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 and consists of about a dozen Los Gatos restaurants and coffee shops donating a proceed of their sales on this day to the Los Gatos High School’s Gold Ribbon Club. Funds raised benefit Curesearch. On Saturday evening, LGHS students will gather in front of the school's front lawn with luminarias sold for $5 to benefit Camp Okizu, a free cancer camp for children, their siblings, and families, and The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Intiative. Volunteers are still needed to help clean Santa Clara County waterways, particularly Vasona Lake and Los Gatos Creek, as part of the 27th annual Coastal Cleanup Day, 9 a.m.-12 noon, Saturday, Sept. 15, 333 Blossom Hill Rd. in Los Gatos. Local participants will be at site 35, one of 41 areas throughout the county, from Palo Alto to Gilroy, being cleaned up. Click here for the site listing and registration information. Volunteers must wear long pants, long sleeves and a hat and use plenty of sunscreen. They must also bring a reusable water bottle. Light snacks will be provided. GLASS PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

The , a fundraising arm of the EMQ Auxiliary serving the needs of local children in need since 1934, presents a Glass Pumpkin Festival 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. Meet the founder of The Magical Glass Pumpkin Patch in Los Gatos and creative catalyst behind Holy City Art Glass, Tom Stanton. Stanton has been creating and selling hand-blown glass art and custom-stained glass for more than 30 years. CELEBRATE SARATOGA

The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce presents Celebrate Saratoga, A Village Block Party noon-7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16 on Big Basin Way at Saratoga Village.
