The Los Gatos Feast of Lanterns

In this 1909 history photograph, the Farwell family is seen relaxing under their display of lanterns.

The 1909 Feast of Lanterns committee encouraged Los Gatos residents to participate in the festival by hanging Japanese lanterns in their gardens.

Here, the Farwell family is seen relaxing under their display of lanterns, probably at Lyndon Heights.

Notice some of the family members perched in the tree.

When night fell in town, the hillsides sparkled.
