Registrations are Under Way for the Los Gatos Resolution Run

A New Year’s resolution to get in shape can end up like that famous quip about the weather -- everybody talks about it, but nobody does anything about it. This year, however, can be different with the Los Gatos Resolution Run set for New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2014. 

The five-mile run takes participants from the Los Gatos High School track out to Lexington Dam and back, and is the perfect way to start a year of personal fitness success. 

Staying accountable to one's self in such matters isn't always easy, but this event allows for a support group of sorts, being family friendly — it even includes a kids race for runners under the age of 13. Runners who sign up right away can shave some extra bucks off the registration fee while they shave off the pounds. 

The event is presented by Athletic Performance and the Los Gatos Athletic Association. Here are the registration details:  

• Date: Wednesday, January 1, 2014 
• Location:  Los Gatos High School Track 
• Start time:  9 a.m. All Divisions, Kids Races will follow (Under 12) 
• Distance:  5 Miles, Kids Distance Starting at 200 Meters on the Kids Distance line 
• Divisions:  Under age 17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and older 
• Entry Fee: $35 pre-registration before Dec. 29, includes a commemorative shirt
• $40 registration after Dec. 29 with a shirt 
• $25 pre-registration before Dec. 29 without a shirt 
• $30 registration after Dec. 29 without a shirt 
• $20 for the race shirt only 
• $5 Kids Race (includes ribbon) 
• Awards:  Special division awards for top finishers. Refreshments will be available after the race
