Patch Watch: Graffiti, Vandalism on Heintz Open Space Picnic Table

Table has been graffitied, is often turned; one of its benches is missing, wood planks are rotting.

If you're hiking on the Heintz Open Space Trail in Los Gatos and want to stop near the park's entrance and eat your lunch on the picnic table that's about half a mile up the path, better find another place to eat your food.

The wooden table has been vandalized and graffitied.

One of its benches, which is supposed to be attached, is also missing and the table is often turned over by vandals.

Sandra Vaurs, a member of the Los Gatos group, took these photos of the table the afternoon of Jan. 25. She also found small graffiti markings at the entrance of Belgatos Park at the end of Belgatos Road.

According to Vaurs, the Town of Los Gatos maintains the Heinz Open Space Trail and the Santa Rosa Open Space Trail. Both trails are accessible from Belgatos Park, located at end of Belgatos Rd, off Blossom Hill Road.
