Museums of Los Gatos 'Unmask the Stage'

Exhibit's opening reception is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Ave.

The Museums of Los Gatos, in association with Musson Theatrical, presents "Unmasking the Stage: The Visual Artists Behind the Theater Experience," Jan. 29 at 4 Tait Ave.

The exhibit, which runs through March 30, showcases the stagecraft of set designers, costumers, make-up and lighting artists. 

The exhibit will offer a behind-the-scenes look into the work of talented designers from the Bay Area theatre community, the Museums said in a press release.

The exhibit is made possible through the generosity of Opera San Jose, San Jose Repertory Theater, San Jose State University Theater Department, Santa Clara University Theater Department and Children’s Musical Theater.

The exhibit's opening reception starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.

A panel discussion titled, "The Art of the Theatre: A Panel Discussion" is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 27.

A Family Art Day is set for noon Sunday, March 9.

"Live at the Museum: An Evening of Inspired Performances," is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 20, featuring entertainment by Shady Shakespeare and Starting Arts.
