Los Gatos Famous Couple: William 'Billy' and Geraldine Jones

William 'Billy' Jones and Geraldine Carolyn McGrady were married June 26, 1918.

This is the wedding portrait of William "Billy" Jones and Geraldine Carolyn McGrady.

They met when a group of railroaders, including Billy Jones, tied up their work train for lunch at Wright's Station.

While awaiting the meal, Jones approached the hamlet's young schoolteacher, Geraldine McGrady, a meeting that eventually led to their marriage on June 26, 1918.

The young couple settled in San Luis Obispo, where Billy was assigned to the helper engines over Cuesta Grade.

They would later return to the nine-acre prune orchard Jones had purchased at Daves Avenue and Winchester Boulevard in Los Gatos.

It is believed that Geraldine's father, Wells McGrady, made her beautiful wedding shoes.

At the wedding, Geraldine's brother Wells gave her away and Genevieve McGrady, her twin, was a bridesmaid.
