Los Gatos Beautification Committee Cleans Up

Volunteers take on overgrown area near Highway 17.

While Punxsutawney Phil was busy searching for his shadow on Groundhog Day, the Los Gatos Community Foundation's Beautification Committee was getting a head start on spring by cleaning up the charging station area near the Post Office on South Santa Cruz Avenue.

The group removed weeds, broken branches and trash and spread a thick layer of mulch that was provided by the town's Parks and Public Works Department.

Pictured with committee mascot "Wallace" are: front row: Karen Chase, Patti Hughes, Mike Mathews, Barbara Holden, Nancy Walker and Robb Walker; back row: volunteers Ray and Ryan, Stephanie Mathews and Brant Corenson.
