Changes Coming to A Place for Teens

Mike Loya is no longer with the Los Gatos organization.

, a nonprofit organization founded 20 years ago and operated by teens and adults, will see some changes in the coming weeks.

One of those changes, according to Peggy Dallas, president of A Place for Teens board of directors, is that Mike Loya is no longer executive director of the nonprofit organization.

Dallas gave no reason for Loya’s departure but said more information would be forthcoming in an announcement expected to be released within the next couple of days.

Before coming to A Place for Teens, Loya was the Youth and Teen Recreation supervisor for LGS Recreation. In 2004, LGS Recreation partnered with A Place for Teens to create The Venue, a teen center operating under the umbrella of A Place for Teens. Loya was involved in creating programs for the teen center. When the position of executive director of A Place for Teens was created in February, Loya took the job.

A Place for Teens provides a variety of services for teens in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, including The Venue teen center located behind ; the Under 21 Club, which meets at the for music; and volunteer opportunities staffing community events.
