Casa Tierra Built by Women
This historical photo shows what the adobe house built by two Los Gatos women looked like six decades ago.
This adobe house was constructed, largely by hand, between 1941 and 1946 by two women, Maude Meagher and Carolyn Smiley.
The women printed and published a magazine, "World Youth."
The Los Gatos Library has a copy of a their book "How we built an adobe house for world youth."
