1.The third annual Just For Kids Fun Run takes place 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 16 near the Carousel in Oak Meadow Park, 200 Blossom Hill Rd. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. The event raises money for the nonprofit Best Buddies organization, which supports children with disabilities. 2. The numbers are in for the Sept. 17 Coastal Cleanup Day. There were 43 sites in Santa Clara County and 1,639 volunteers, removed 32,390 pounds of trash and 7,773 pounds of recyclables from more than 78 miles of creeks and shoreline.
