5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 24

Don't miss the blood drive tonight at Los Gatos High School.

1. students will be participating in a blood drive today, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., in the small gym of the high school. Sign ups began April 24 outside room 91A. Parents are encouraged to get their children to donate. Details: 408-354-2730.

2. Blossom Hill Elementary Home and School Club is asking the public to volunteer in the Blossom Hill Elementary School Library for its Scholastic Book Fair today, Tuesday, May 24, to help children, parents and teachers find books or help with the cash registers and customer checkout. The book fair runs through May 27. Details: Book Fair chairwomen Serena Jee or Juel Lazovsky at bookfair@blossomhill.org.

3. The Los Gatos Museums Gallery, 24 No. Santa Cruz Ave., exhibits awards/winning regional artists in the heart of downtown Los Gatos 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday; and 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunday. Original works of various mediums are featured on a rotating basis every three months. The 57 artists join the gallery through a juried process by fellow gallery artists.  4. Join Los Gatos resident Brad Armstrong, co-owner of the Willow Glen  store, at 6:15 a.m. every Tuesday for a free track workout that includes combinations of 400- and 800-meter repeats and one-mile distances. The group meets at the track, rain, hail or shine. Details: 408-354-7365 or 408-297-0100.
