Friends Plan Benefit to Help Los Gatos Bartender Afflicted With Cancer

Friends of Viva's bartender Randall "Randy" Froh, who is battling cancer, are organizing a benefit fundraiser for him 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at the restaurant, 15970 Los Gatos Blvd.

Your $35 tax-deductible ticket purchase will include a buffet dinner, live music, drink contest with local bartenders, raffle prizes and surprises.

The event is Hawaiian theme so organizers are hoping attendees will dress Island style.

On the GoFundMe site, Randy's friend Tiffany Sutcliffe Hamm posted on Sept. 6 that Randy has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the throat, tongue and neck.

His treatments will consist of chemo infusions along with radiation, she said.

Randy began his first chemo treatment on Sept. 10 at Kaiser in Santa Clara.

"Randy has been an emotional support to so many over the years. His kind words and actions have helped lift each and everyone of us, and now he needs our support in return," she wrote.

"This battle will not only require our thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement, it necessitates our financial support as well."
