Medical Center Coming To Los Gatos

Late summer groundbreaking expected for facility at corner of Los Gatos Boulevard and Gateway Drive.

The Palo Alto Medical Foundation has announced that it's adding two medical sites in Los Gatos due to demand for health care in the South Bay.

The first site is located at 15400 Los Gatos Blvd. at Gateway Drive. An empty former car dealership used to be there, but the property will soon see a 40,000-square-foot medical center.

The second property is a newly renovated 9,000-square-foot building at 15720 Winchester Blvd. This building will have specialty and primary care physicians, as well as basic radiology and ultrasound services, PAMF said in a news release.

PAMF opened its first site in Los Gatos in April 2012 and currently leases five  offices for 30 physicians, suites at 2400 and 2577 Samaritan Drive, on the Los Gatos-San Jose border.

In addition, PAMF has a fertility practice with a laboratory and a two-room surgical suite.

“Our goal is to be an integral part of the local health care community. All of our Los Gatos clinics are near one another so we can offer integrated care while we eagerly await the grand opening of the new medical center in 2015,” said Dr.  Elizabeth Vilardo, who oversees PAMF's medical operations in the South Bay.

If a PAMF Los Gatos patient requires admission to a hospital, they will decide with their physician if they will go to El Camino Los Gatos or Good Samaritan Hospital locally, or El Camino Hospital in Mountain View if they prefer, the release stated.

PAMF is the first Sutter Health affiliate in the Los Gatos/West San Jose area.

The Sutter Health network of care includes many state physician organizations measured annually by the Integrated Healthcare Association.

PAMF’s 1,100 affiliated physicians and 3,400 employees serve more than 800,000 patients at its medical centers and clinics in Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, according to the organization.
