JCC's Summer Camp Receives ACA Accreditation

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley (JCC), which runs a popular day camp in Los Gatos, is proud to announce that it had a successful site visit from the American Camping Association (ACA) this month.

The result of the visit is that the JCC’s day camp will be accredited by the ACA, making the JCC one of only  four day camps in Los Gatos to receive this prestigious accreditation.

ACA accreditation indicates high standards of camp operation, especially in the areas of program quality and camper health and safety.

The JCC’s day camp accepts campers from 18 months to 16 years old, and includes a variety of specialty camps as well as traditional day camp. It welcomes about 800 campers to the JCC campus each summer, and also runs seasonal camps during winter break, February break and spring break.

Andrew Mendes, the JCC’s Camp Director, commented, “We’re proud that our camp has been recognized for high quality programs by the American Camping Association. Preparing for accreditation was a 6-month process that took a lot of work and dedication from our staff, and we appreciate everyone’s efforts. We look forward to being able to offer families the extra level of confidence that ACA accreditation provides.”
