Hometown- Suffield, Ohio Birthday- November 8 Bio Twinsburg Patch is my first crack at professional journalism.  I graduated from Kent State University in 2010 with a degree in broadcast journalism. During that time I had two great internships with local media, spending nearly six months writing and reporting online and over the air for WAKR and AkronNewsNow.com in Akron.  After that, I worked on the web with WKSU in Kent.  I am proud to say I was a finalist in the 2010 William Randolph Hearst Awards for Television News. If you don't know news, that's a pretty high accomplishment. Away from the web, I love spending time with my family and friends and beautiful wife Shannon. A life long NE Ohio boy, I love (and sometimes hate) watching the Browns and the Buckeyes, occasionally screaming at the television! I loves meeting new people and have been incredibly blessed to get to know the city of Twinsburg and its people. Your Beliefs At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know. Politics Somewhat conservative, but no official affiliation Religion I strive to live for Christ, loving and serving others as he did. Local Hot-Button Issues In talking with residents and businesses, I have found that after the Chrysler plant shut down, things have been tough.  So many family incomes were deeply affected by the closing and that works its way into local business and government.  When money leaves, things get pretty tight everywhere.  But the great thing is that through it all, the city's spirit doesn't seem to have been affected.  I have met some very optimistic and positive people so far and that is a great sign.  I know that school issues are always a hot topic in any community and that is no different in Twinsburg.  The district has received the "Excellent with Distinction" mark a few years in a row, but they are not immune to financial woes either.  These are issues that everyone cares about because they affect each individual in one way or another and I want to give Twinsburg comprehensive news coverage on the things that really hit home.
